I am an expert in using Slack and archiving low-friction communications. 5 underused features. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ

I started using Slack in 2017, and since then, I have managed teams at many clients, onsite or offsite. I was a technical and administrative stakeholder for Volvo Cars Sweden Slack migration. In my own business, I use Slack as an information hub - having other tools or sources integrating. At this point, I would consider myself a pro.

Unfortunately, many companies waste Slackโ€™s true power because of a lack of ownership or IT policies.

Therefore, I urge you to learn from my mistakes and save yourself precious time by utilizing these features that ensure a happy team that enjoys low barrier communication flows:

  1. Feature #1: Workflows: Automatically post all necessary information when a new team member joins or leaves.
  2. Feature #2: Groups and Projects: For all projects I have worked on, information transparency has been critical. Therefore, make sure that joiners and leavers automatically get access to their channels.
  3. Feature #3: Communications Guidelines: Using emojis is not only fun, but it can also be an effective way to communicate that you are working on a task assigned to you. See an example here โ€”>
  4. โ€Feature #4: Pay for Plugins to Automate: Small software plugins can have a significant impact on the team. For instance, I use GA Insights feeding into an Analytics channel, and everyone gets a flyby view of data. It is vital to remove siloes and establish common understandings of the bigger picture.
  5. โ€Feature #5: Slack Connect: Integrating partners or peers outside of your company is crucial and makes the work much more accessible. The alternative is often to send emails.

By implementing these features, you can create an integrated workplace with low friction and easy collaboration and communication. Trust me; I know what I am talking about.

Our first steps together start with ๐Ÿš€.ย

  1. Do we have a fit: introduction call where you tell me what you want to archive. I ask a bunch of questions. After the call, I will return a mindmap of how I have understood the challenge or opportunity. Also, confirm if I can help. Free of charge.
  2. Commercial and phase 1 (deep analysis in your organization/team). Usually 2-6 weeks of work, but it depends, of course, on the size of the team and objectives. Output a strategic, tactical, and operational roadmap. You have a 50% money-back guarantee.
  3. Optional: I lead the change in the roadmap, managing suppliers, team members, tech decisions, backlog, etc. Usually 6-12 months
